Matt Short is in doubt for the third one-day international of Australia's series against West Indies after reporting hamstring tightness during Australia's 83-run win at the SCG.
The injury prevented batting allrounder Short from fielding on Sunday as West Indies attempted to chase down 259 runs for victory.
Mackenzie Harvey replaced Short in the field and caught paceman Alzarri Joseph from Will Sutherland's bowling late in the win, which sealed a series victory for Australia.
"(Short) will be reviewed by medical staff in the coming days," a statement from Cricket Australia read.
A powerful ball-striker with the ability to bowl handy off-spin overs, Short is now in a race to line up in the final match of the series at Manuka Oval on Tuesday.
Sutherland debuted at the SCG as pacemen Lance Morris and Xavier Bartlett were rested ahead of the match in Canberra.
Sutherland could hold his spot if Short is unavailable and selectors want to replace him with an allrounder.
Paceman Spencer Johnson, recently named player of the match in the BBL final, will also join the squad for the third ODI as star paceman Josh Hazlewood drops out of the squad.
Hazlewood was brought in for the second match of the series but will remain behind when the squad travels to Canberra on Monday and rest up before this month's tour of New Zealand.
On a tough SCG wicket, Short posted Australia's second-highest score (41) and his best from four ODIs so far.
He forged a 51-run partnership with Aaron Hardie that helped steady Australia's innings, which appeared in trouble at 4-89.
Short was caught and bowled by Gudakesh Motie before he could reach a maiden ODI half-century, as Australia finished at 9-258 in pursuit of a series victory.
