The Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots are set to meet on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium for their second of two battles during the 2022 regular season.
While Miami will likely be without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, New England’s secondary is dealing with some injuries of their own, possibly making things easier for Teddy Bridgewater and company.
As of Thursday, the Patriots’ top four cornerbacks – Jonathan Jones, Jack Jones, Marcus Jones and Jalen Mills – were all on the injury report, with the last three not participating in practice at all.
Facing Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle is a tough task no matter who’s on the field, but without their best coverage players, New England will need to get help elsewhere.
Pro Bowl linebacker Matt Judon joked on Thursday about a potential plan to cover the younger of the duo this Sunday.
“Don’t be surprised if it’s me versus Waddle out there on an island,” Judon stated.
Even without Tagovailoa in the game, Miami would probably be fine with having Bridgewater targeting the second-year wideout with a linebacker on him.
