Matt Hancock's I'm A Celeb twist branded 'vile' and 'disgusting' by angry fans

The twists and turns just keep coming this year in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here. After Olivia Attwood was forced to leave the jungle just days into her adventure, two new arrivals will be appearing on the show much earlier than fans expected, and viewers are fuming at this latest twist.

Former Health Secretary Matt Hancock was officially revealed to having entered the jungle as hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly announced "TVs worst kept secret" on Tuesday, November 9. The MP will be joined by comedian Seann Walsh.

Ant and Dec announced to viewers and campmates that the new additions would be joining them and that the late arrivals would both be taking on the next Bushtucker Trial. While the contestants don't know who will be arriving, viewers have certainly made their opinions known and many are fuming.

Tuesday night's show was the first time that Ant and Dec had officially confirmed the pair were joining the line-up, with their debuts set to air tonight, Wednesday, November 9. Speaking in the episode, Hancock shared his hopes for the series - but his comments fell flat with viewers, according to the Mirror.

The new arrival said: "This experience will be an adventure. When I'm in camp people will see the real me. Survival in the jungle is a good metaphor for the world I work in." He added: "People will see me warts and all and will all see the human side of the guy behind the podium. I don't think I've got any fears or phobias but I am about to find out."

Viewers were distracted from the VT though, still furious with ITV for paying Hancock to take part in the show. Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "Anyone else think its disgusting ITV are paying Matt Hancock to go on this show after EVERYTHING?"

Another fan said: "As much as I love #imaceleb I actually think it’s vile on ITV’s part to even entertain the idea of having Matt Hancock on this show let alone paying him the amount they are." A third viewer tweeted: "Don’t let this distract from the fact that they’re paying him FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND POUNDS for this."
