Matt Hancock is said to be in with a 'real shot' of making the I'm A Celebrity final, after defying everyone's expectations by staying in as long as he has.
There was a massive furore across the country when, after rumours linking him to a late arrival on one of the most watched shows on British TV, the disgraced former Health Secretary was snapped after landing at Australia's Brisbane Airport, confirming that all the speculation was spot on. Hancock entered the jungle alongside ex Strictly star Seann Walsh midway through the first week, much to the shock of the other I 'm A Celebrity campmates, a number of whom questioned him out right why he was doing the show.
Hancock told his co-stars he wanted to show that 'politicians were human beings', before conceding to ITV newsreader Charlene White that he was 'looking for forgiveness' after becoming a hate figure due to his handling of the Covid pandemic and him being caught cheating on his wife in Downing Street.

Viewers made sure that Hancock got plenty of punishment in his first few days in the jungle, as he did six trials in a row, before being given an unexpected reprieve. And, since then Hancock, in an unforeseen turn of events, has been doing very well in the public vote for who should win I'm A Celebrity, with him surviving six vote-offs, as well tipped stars like Boy George and Babatunde Aleshe have been given the boot.
And now, Hancock is being tipped to survive Friday's elimination, as he closes in on Mike Tindall in third place, with Jill Scott and Owen Warner pretty much neck and neck in the latest odds for who will win the jungle crown this year.
Oddschecker have both Matt and Mike on 10/1 to win, while BetVictor now have Matt ahead of Mike on 7/1 to the rugby star's 8.1.
Those odds won't be welcomed by many I'm A Celebrity viewers who are angry that he's still in. After Chris Moyles was giving his marching orders on Thursday night, one livid viewer reacted: "veryone deserves a second chance. But not Matt Hancock," with another tweeting: "Chris Moyles is right, why the fk is Matt Hancock still in, who's voting for that weasel?
