Matt Baker delivers blow to viewers with news of popular show ending

Matt Baker left fans gutted with the news that the show he stars in with his parents has aired its final episode.

After joining them on screen for two seasons of hit More 4 show Our Farm in the Dales, which saw Matt return home to help dad Mike after mum Janice was i njured in an accident on the family's farm, as well as a Christmas special, the trio have recently returned to screens in Travels with Mum and Dad, which has seen them travel the North East. in a camper van. Former One Show presenter Matt and his parents have been to an array of famous landmarks including Bamburgh Castle, Beamish and Durham Cathedral, with many people tuning in to watch them in action.

Just like Our Farm in the Dales, Travel With Mum and Dad quickly proved a big hit with viewers of all ages in its Wednesday night slot on More 4. So it came as a blow that last week's episode proved to be the last. Teasing what was coming up and thanking everyone for their support with the show, County Durham born TV personality Matt took to Instagram to write: "Can’t believe It’s the Final episode of Travels with Mum and Dad, tonight on More4 9pm, we’re off to Hexham Races!

"Thankyou so much for all the lovely messages about the series we’ve had a wonderful time filming and bringing it to your screens. Happy travels to everyone where ever you’re heading …here’s to making memories and special times together."

Upset about the news that Travels With Mum and Dad was ending but heaping praise on Matt and his parents for the show, one of his followers responded: "I am so sorry to hear that this is the last episode tonight. You all bring so much joy into our evening, remembering the old time etc.

"All of your family are just so great they remind me of my mum and dad, it’s been such a special series thank you so very much for all the wonderful information about were you all have been it’s been great. God bless you all, and let’s hope there is more in the future." Another told Matt: "Lovely family, we love your positive outlook and your programme is gentle and lovely to watch. In these difficult times we need more like this please Ch4 group. Bring on season 2!"
