In a thrilling men's football semifinal match, France and Egypt played out a tense 1-1 draw, leading to extra time and the possibility of penalties to determine the winner.

The game saw Mahmoud Saber of Egypt open the scoring in the 62nd minute, putting his team in the lead and causing a stir among the fans. However, France fought back valiantly, with Jean-Philippe Mateta scoring a crucial equalizer in the 83rd minute, thanks to an assist from Michael Olise.

Controversy struck the match when France appealed for a penalty, only for the decision to be overturned after a lengthy Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review. The referee ruled that France's Loic Bade had not committed a foul, much to the dismay of the home fans in Lyon's stadium.

With the scores level at 1-1 after regular time, the teams now face an additional 30 minutes of extra time to try and secure a victory. If the deadlock persists, the outcome will be decided by a nerve-wracking penalty shootout.

The match between France and Egypt has showcased the competitive spirit and determination of both teams, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to this closely contested semifinal clash.
