Mateo Kovacic has agreed personal terms with Manchester City ahead of a summer move from Chelsea, according to reports.
The Croatia international is one of several players who is expected to depart Stamford Bridge this summer as Chelsea seek to reclaim funds in the transfer market.
The 29-year-old is approaching the final year of his Chelsea contract and this summer represents the last chance the London club has to sell the midfielder and get a decent return on him. If not, he could depart Stamford Bridge for nothing in the summer of 2024.

And City could be a destination for Kovacic. Ilkay Gundogan could depart, while there is also speculation surrounding Bernardo Silva's future meaning City may need to replenish their options in midfield.
And Talksport report that Kovacic has agreed personal terms with the Blues with City confident of sealing the transfer. The report also says the move would come after five years of 'little effort' from either Chelsea or the midfielder's representatives to extend his time at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have held talks over a potential move for Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo. The Portuguese has spent the second half of the season on loan at Bayern Munich after falling out of favour with boss Pep Guardiola.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have held exploratory talks with Cancelo's representatives over a potential move to North London this summer. He told GiveMeSport: "For Cancelo, yes, they are interested. They had some contact and they have very good relationship with these agents, so there was a conversation over the possibility to sign Cancelo."
