Gary Lineker has apparently been offered a big new job. It comes after the 62-year-old was suspended from Match of the Day because the BBC said he had breached guidelines by tweeting criticism of the UK Government's new policy towards asylum seekers.
The well-known presenter and ex-football player said he had been asked to step back from the iconic show. The programme has been left in chaos after a number of pundits rushed to support Mr Lineker.
Ian Wright, Alan Shearer and others all boycotted Saturday night's (March 11) show as a result of the announcement. The programme went ahead in a reduced 20-minute highlights-only format without a studio presentation or post-match interviews, reports Birmingham Live.

Now it has been reported that Mr Lineker has been offered a new job already. According to The Sun, BT Sport has reportedly approached the star.
The broadcaster is set for a summer revamp and a name change to TNT Sports. It is claimed they want Mr Lineker as a main presenter.
Mr Lineker was suspended from Match of the Day following his criticism of the Government's Illegal Migration Bill. The BBC said his comments on social media were a "breach of our guidelines".
He had compared the Government's ban on people arriving on small boats from settling in Britain with "1930's Germany".
