Match of the Day, Britain's Got Talent and other TV shows dropped because of Eurovision

A number of TV schedules have been changed today to make way for the Eurovision Song Contest.

The Eurovision final will take place in Liverpool on Saturday, May 13. Coverage of the event will start on BBC One at 8pm and is not expected to finish until midnight.

This has forced the BBC to move Match of the Day to BBC Two, with coverage starting at the earlier time of 10pm. Six Premier League games will be played on Saturday, including Newcastle's trip to Leeds. Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham will also feature on this weekend's edition of Match of the Day, due to be hosted by Gary Lineker.

Meanwhile, ITV has scrapped In For A Penny, Britain's Got Talent and The 1 Per Cent Club, which is hosted by Lee Mack, from schedules tonight. ITV has opted not to show the programmes, with Eurovision taking centre stage on the BBC.

The three shows return to the TV listings next Saturday. Today, ITV will show a movie, with Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom airing from 8pm, as the BBC broadcasts Eurovision.

Next week, In For A Penny returns from Sussex. Stephen Mulhern heads to Brighton for the game show in which he travels around the UK setting members of the public unusual challenges, giving them the chance to win anything from the price of their petrol to £1,000 in the final game.

And in the seventh BGT audition of the year, more performers take to the stage in London and Manchester to try to impress judges Bruno Tonioli, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon and secure their place in the live-semi-finals. Ant and Dec host both on stage and from the wings as they get ready to cheer and console the acts brave enough to perform in front of thousands.
