Winter walks can be absolutely beautiful but, let's be honest, they can also be freezing.
I've been after a pair of comfortable leggings that can keep me warm for years. When a close friend of mine recommended the Matalan Fleece Lined leggings it took me a while to actually get my hands on them because they were sold out for a good while.
I've always thrown on a pair of joggers or flimsy pair of leggings to go out and walk the dog but, with the recent cold snap, they just weren't cutting it. When the popular Matalan Fleece Lined leggings were finally back in stock, I ordered them as fast as a could.

The leggings have a five star rating on the Matalan website with shoppers describing the product as "the best purchase of the year" and "cosy and warm". Priced at £11, I was hoping they'd live up to the hype.
The product description reads: "Help to keep seasonal chills at bay with these thicker, fleece lined leggings. Styled in black, they're finished with extra stretch to the waistband and cuffs for ease of movement all day long. Wear it with a jumper and trainers for a cute and cosy weekend look. Model Height: 5ft 9."
I ordered my usual size 12 and was amazed at the sheer quality and thickness of the leggings. They were soft to touch on the outside and even softer on the inside once I'd put them on.
Although my usual size in leggings is a 12, these were slightly on the snug side when I put them on. Once I'd worn them in a bit they fitted quite nicely although they were a little tighter than some leggings I've worn.
I put the tightness down to the fact they are fleece lined and, although they were tight, they were still really comfortable - which is quite the rarity! I purchased these leggings when we had the minus degrees cold spell and let's just say I'm so glad that I did.
Since buying them, I've been wearing them to death. Whether that's around the house, for wintery dog walks or for tidying up when it's chilly in the house. For £11, I know for a fact I'm going to get so much wear out of these.
The verdict
It's very easy to see why these leggings continuously sell out and they're like a gold dust when trying to find them in store. They felt incredibly fluffy on the inside and added that extra layer of warmth that we all need in the winter.
If you want complete comfort, I'd advise sizing up, but the size 12 for me was still comfortable. You don't have to wear these leggings when slouching around either. They can easily be dressed up with a cute jumper and a pair of boots.
