Matalan finds itself under fire over £20 Jubilee dress

Shoppers at the high street fashion retailer Matalan have heaped praise on the retailer for its 'pretty' £20 Jubilee dress. The offering has caused a stir with shoppers who are excited about the upcoming Jubilee.

On social media the retailer shared a snap of the dress and said: "Jubilee weekend is around the corner and this [is] the perfect garden party dress Shop the £20 dress." Clearly Jubilee dressing up items are hot property in the shops with the Platinum anniversary just a week away.

Fellow retailer ASDA found themselves in trouble with shoppers over their matching Union Jack dresses that have been made for both mums and daughters ahead of the Queen's Jubilee celebrations - but people were fuming when it sold out. The Matalan Papaya Blue 70s Floral Shirred Midi Dress has a subtle nod to the jubilee with a pattern fit for a garden party. With the dress full of union jacks the Matalan dress is perfect for the long bank holiday weekend the MEN reports.

However the dress still has one big issue. Just like ASDA's dress it has completely sold out apart from in a size 10, and that has left people angry. On social media Suzanne Oliver wrote: "You keep putting lovely dresses on here, then when you look on the website they are never in stock, some never come back in stock, what is the point?!" Manders JG responded to the comment and said: "Agree 100%! Happens all the time and is annoying!!!

Sarah Kate O'Connor also added and said: "I hope it comes back into stock." Despite the criticism fans were mostly overwhelmed at how pretty the dress is.

Lucy Blackburn praised the dress and said: "I have this. It's very soft and comfy." Whilst Jenny Stubbs added: "Love this dress."

Natasha Staddon also commented and said: "Love that one." Annmarie Welch added: "This one's so pretty."

Manchester Evening News has reached out to Matalan for comment.
