Not only has MasterChef Australia introduced viewers to some of the brightest stars in the culinary world, but it’s also established a handful of beautiful romances.
Chris Badenoch and Julia Jenkins tied the knot after meeting on the inaugural season of the cooking show back in 2009, and Sarah Todd and Declan Cleary have gotten engaged and welcomed twin girls since competing on last year’s season.
The loved-up couple have proved that a lot can change in 12 months, as they made a surprise return to the kitchen in Sunday night’s episode alongside their daughters, Charlotte and Claudia.
“The kitchen is where our story began, so being back there together was a full circle moment,” Sarah told PEDESTRIAN.TV about the “really special” experience.
“A few nerves came back, but I felt much more relaxed this time. Having Declan and the girls there made a huge difference.”
Sarah and Declan spill on their wedding guest list
In addition to their TV appearances, parenting duties and many, many businesses, Sarah and Declan are also in the midst of planning their wedding.
The big day will likely be a star-studded event, considering they have four MasterChef seasons between them and plenty of supportive co-stars hoping to be added to the guest list.
One person who isn’t so sure they’ll make the cut, however, is judge Andy Allen, who joked on P.TV’s Villain Edit podcast back in April that he doesn’t think he’s Sarah’s favourite person.
“I feel like Sarah didn’t love the way that I critiqued some of her food. We’ve sorted that out since, but I definitely won’t be getting asked to do any of the catering, I don’t think,” he remarked.
He did, however, compliment them on how “they make parenting look way too easy with twins”, and said Declan had “set a really high bar” for him as a dad.

In response to Andy’s comments, Declan and Sarah admitted to P.TV that he will have to “wait and see” if he scores a wedding invite.
“We’ve made some incredible friendships through MasterChef, so there are definitely a few names on the list,” they said, adding that their wedding planning is happening “slowly but surely”.
“Life is busy, but we’re enjoying the process and taking it one step at a time.”
Well, hopefully there’s a croquembouche on the menu and some “disgustingly good” food to make it a true MasterChef wedding.
