A host of celebrity chefs and Masterchef winners are heading to a food festival at Tatton Park which is being dubbed ‘Gastro Glasto’. The likes of Adam Reid from The French and Aiden Byrne will be appearing at Foodies Festival, happening from July 8 to 10.
MasterChef: The Professionals 2021 champion Daniel Lee, the Manchester-born MasterChef 2021 champion Tom Rhodes and finalist David Rickett will be among those also doing demos, alongside Warrington-born MasterChef star Liam Rogers and Shropshire chef Stuart Collins from the Great British Menu.
At the Cake and Bake Theatre, bakers from The Great British Bake Off will be attending too, including Freya Cox and Lizzie Acker, along with home cook Jemma Melvin, who won the BBC contest to create a pudding for the Queen’s platinum jubilee.
Manchester chefs Adam Reid, from Adam Reid at The French, Aiden Byrne from The Church Green in Lymm and formerly of Manchester House, Simon Wood and Brazilian-born Manchester resident Caroline Martins will also be on the bill for the weekend.
“It's a privilege to come to the Foodies Festival and showcase these delicious local ingredients to such a great audience at Tatton Park,” said Martins. “I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there and showing how anyone can make an incredibly delicious carpaccio with fresh and local chalk stream trout, perfect for a dinner party or if you want to show-off to friends or family.”
Elsewhere, world chilli eating champion Shahina Waseem will be in town to demonstrate her skills and challenge the audience, with kids cookery schools and cook book shops also among the attractions.
As well as kitchen wizardry, there will also be a host of live music acts too, including Toploader, East 17, Rozalla, S Club Allstars, and Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe from Blue. Tickets are on sale now.
