Gareth Baty has been crowned the winner of MasterChef: The Professionals, expressing he is "over the moon" after his triumph on the BBC One cooking show.

The 40-year-old chef, originally from Carlisle, dedicated his winning three-course menu to his family and late father. The final saw three culinary talents battle it out to impress the judges with their gastronomic creations.
