An Ayrshire chef has reached the grand final of MasterChef after a tense week including 'sleepless nights'.
Sagar Massey has battled throughout the last week of this year's MasterChef: The Professionals which saw six finalists become three.
The 24-year-old who works in the Rabbit restaurant at Troon's Marine Hotel as a senior sous-chef blew the competition away this week, culminating in last nights qualification to the final.
Sagar who lives in Paisley, Renfrewshire honed his skills at West College Scotland before embarking on his journey to become a chef.
Last night he wowed judges with a duck breast cooked in a coffee glaze with Anna Haugh commenting he has shown a great "command of flavour", and Michelin star chef Marcus Wareing adding he really enjoyed Sagar's dish.
Sagar then faced an anxious wait as rival Nikita was put through to the final three first before James was put out confirming Sagar's spot in Sunday's grand finale.
After being told the news he reached the final, Sagar said: "Today was hard and stressful but it was a good day, I can't express what I am feeling just now it is just amazing."
The final will air on Sunday on BBC ONE at and iPlayer at 6.15pm.
