Jose Enrique has accused Chelsea star Mason Mount of talking too much after the England international claimed the Blues are after "payback" when they meet Jurgen Klopp's side in the FA Cup final next month.
Mount helped Chelsea seal their place in the showpiece event with a goal against Crystal Palace in the semi-final - their second of the game after former Eagles loanee Ruben Loftus-Cheek opened the scoring. The day prior saw Liverpool reach their first FA Cup final for 10 years and their first under Klopp after beating title rivals Manchester City.
Chelsea have a miserable run at Wembley that they will be desperate to end on May 14 and Mount has been on the wrong side of the result the last four times he has appeared under the famous arch. He spoke honestly about how he is aiming to end that run.
"It’s definitely time for us to win a final at Wembley," the 23-year-old said. "For me it is five finals, so we have to put the pressure on us to step up. We remember those defeats and now it is time to get payback."
The last two FA Cup finals have seen Chelsea suffer defeat at the hands of Arsenal and Leicester City in 2020 and 2021 respectively, before losing the Euro 2020 final with England in the same stadium in the most heartbreaking fashion via a penalty shootout.
This season hasn't brought much better luck so far, with the Blues losing to Liverpool in February's Carabao Cup final in a contest that was yet again decided by a shootout. Mount will be all too aware that his side will have to go some way to halt this current Liverpool side with all their momentum.

Enrique may harbour some ill-feeling towards Chelsea given he was part of a Reds side beaten by the West London outfit in the FA Cup final 10 years ago, but he has not taken kindly to Mount's comments. The Spaniard took to Twitter to respond.
"This guy talks a lot. He did it to Toni Kroos as well [before Chelsea’s exit in the Champions League against Real Madrid ]," Enrique wrote. "Let’s see what happens in the final. At the moment you already lost one against us this season. Come on Reds!!!"
Blues boss Tuchel was perfectly fine with Mount's assessment of the situation when pressed for comment. "Good. Yeah, good! Of course we feel it [the need to get revenge]," the German explained. "The Carabao Cup final was so close; it wasn’t last season or two years ago. It was a few weeks ago we lost in the same stadium on a pretty similar occasion."
