Mason Mount mirrors Chelsea icon by equalling goals record after crucial Aston Villa brace

Mason Mount Aston Villa Frank Lampard Steven Gerrard Graham Potter Kepa Arrizabalaga Reece James Villa Park

Mason Mount has equalled a Frank Lampard Chelsea record after he netted twice in the Blues' 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Mount broke the deadlock after just six minutes at Villa Park, latching onto Tyrone Mings' misjudged header and finishing smartly past Emiliano Martinez.

Despite struggling to contain Steven Gerrard's side during certain periods, only Kepa Arrizabalaga's heroics kept the visitors in front, Mount doubled Chelsea's advantage with Lampard-esq free kick.
