Davina McCall had a real 'lightbulb' moment on Saturday's Masked Singer as she remembered a clue from a few weeks ago to arrive at the same conclusion fans made weeks ago - that Knitting is Claire Richards.
It was back in the first episode of the new series that Knitting made her debut and it took her first VT and a verse and chorus of Becky Hill's Remember for Steps fans to be sure it is Claire in the pink and purple costume. As well her as having a distinctive singing voice, Claire's early clues included a magpie, which many people took to be a nod to Steps hit One For Sorrow and 2002, the year Claire formed duo H & Claire with her bandmate.
There was mention of the number 26, which is the sum of 5,6,7,8 and another video of Knitting asking someone to put the light on, a clear reference to Steps' single Scared of the Dark and Knitting singing No More Tears (Enough is Enough), a song she also sang on a Steps tour.

But it was the magpie clue that finally landed on Davina's radar as Knitting returned to the Masked Singer stage on Saturday, this time to cover Little Mix's Secret Love Song.
After the performance, host Joel Dommett went to the panel for their guesses and Davina said: "I'm going back a couple of weeks to the magpie and I'm one magpie on its own, I think, is for sorrow. I kept saying one for sorrow and I was thinking song lyrics, that took me to Steps, okay?"
She added: "I heard breath of a dragon. I think Claire from Steps was on a show where she learnt to breathe fire, so I am going for Claire Richards."
Fans were quick to react to Davina 'cracking the case', with one tweeting: "Yay! Davina McCall has finally cracked it ~ like we've been saying since the start Knitting is Claire from Steps. Heavy footfall, the tragedy church, lyrics from Stomp and deeper shade of blue."
