The finalists for the new series of The Masked Singer were decided on Saturday as five become three and in a huge shock, Jellyfish wasn't one of them, as Amber Riley was revealed to be the celebrity inside the costume.
And the result did not go down well with ITV viewers at home, who hit out at the studio audience for the way they voted.
From her first performance on the ITV programme last month, Jellyfish has been a clear frontrunner for Masked Singer glory, thanks to covers of songs like Sweet Child O'Mine and Take Me to Church. Masked Singer panellist Jonathan Ross declared to have rumbled who Jellyfish is, when she sang Tom Walker's Leave A Light On.
Having already thought it was Glee star Amber Riley down to her vocals, Jonathan said he was sure the star, famous for playing Mercedes in the hit show, had her own song of the same name.
Jellyfish wowed everyone again last week when she belted out Heart's Alone but it was a clue away from the stage that sealed the deal for people watching at home. Jellyfish claimed she was 'gooped' - with that term sending many people down the Gwyneth Paltrow route, given that the A-lister has her own website called Goop.
And Gwyneth provides a direct link to Amber, because she starred in Glee with her. Identifying that link, one viewer took to Twitter to react: "“Gooped” - Gwyneth Paltrow, she was on Glee with Amber Riley, who is 100% jellyfish" with another, thinking the same thing, tweeting: "The GOOPED clue gave it away, it's Deffo Amber Riley as Paltrow was in Glee as well.."
Heading into Saturday's semi final, as well as Amber being the favourite to be Jellyfish, Jellyfish was also favourite to win, ahead of Rhino. So it came as a huge shock to fans at home that she didn't even make the final.
One took to Twitter to fume: "Jellyfish was robbed!!! #MaskedSingerUK Amber Riley has such an incredible voice and should have been in the final" and another blasted: "Amber Riley was robbed, she should have been in the final!"
