Following Rob Beckett speaking out over recent hints he was Traffic Cone on ITV series The Masked Singer UK, fans have suspected they know who is really under the mask.
Rob was forced to deny he was the character on Twitter this weekend, after apparently being approached by the true celebrity.
He posted to his followers: "Right so I have a confession. I’m not Traffic Cone. It’s a wind up.
"However it’s got so out of hand the actual Traffic Cone has angrily messaged me telling me to stop saying I’m traffic cone.
"So for the record, I’m not Traffic Cone. But I now know who is."
The tweet led to many fans believing they had finally cracked the case, and had rumbled the true identity of the character.
Several viewers were in agreement that Rob was possibly lying, and was actually playing a "double bluff" to throw fans off the scent.
One fan tweeted: "That’s what Traffic Cone would say…" as another agreed: "Sounds like a diversion tactic, exactly what a traffic cone is known for."
A third fan commented: "That's exactly what you'd say if you are The Traffic Cone," as a fourth wrote: "This is a bluff within a bluff within a bluff that is bluffing about being a bluff..."
Meanwhile, a fifth viewer said: "Ah, the old double-bluff. Nudge nudge, wink wink eh Rob. I getcha!"
It comes after comedian Rob Brydon also addressed claims it was him behind the mask.
The Gavin & Stacey star and comedian appeared on ITV's The John Bishop Show on Saturday night, where he was grilled over the latest series.
It's then that Rob confessed he had been asked to do the show, and added that he'd seen speculation he was in fact Traffic Cone.
Host John had asked him: "I mean you must have been asked to do The Masked Singer surely, because you've got a good singing voice."
He said: "Yes," and nodded, before remaining coy.
Rob added: "Every Saturday night people think I'm a traffic cone. I haven't seen this run of it but I assume there is a traffic cone, and obviously I can't say can I, because it would spoil something. But yes, I have been asked, yes."
Meanwhile, days earlier Russell Watson claimed it was his friend Aled Jones who was Traffic Cone, with viewers also believing this to be the case.
One fan said: "I think Traffic Cone is definitely Aled Jones 100%," as another wrote: "Aled Jones for traffic cone. He was beaten at Wimbledon by female tennis player that was ranked #4."
A third said: "Traffic Cone - It is 100% Aled Jones, but he's trying to hide it," while another wrote: "Traffic Cone has to be Aled Jones!"
Another fan commented: "I have never been more sure of anything in my life than that Traffic Cone is ALED JONES!"
The Masked Singer UK airs Saturdays at 7pm on ITV.
