Maryland Officials Find Multiple Vehicles In Collapsed Bridge Investigation

Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore

A recent Maryland bridge collapse has left authorities scrambling to piece together what led to the tragic incident. According to a Maryland law enforcement official, there is a 'distinct possibility' that more vehicles could have been on the bridge when it collapsed, although no evidence has been found to support this theory.

Efforts to locate submerged vehicles have been ongoing, with authorities utilizing infrared and side-scan sonar technology. So far, three passenger vehicles, a cement truck, and a fifth vehicle have been discovered in the water.

Radio traffic recordings have captured the frantic moments leading up to the collapse, with authorities halting traffic and working to clear the bridge just seconds before the impact.

The Maryland State Police Secretary, Col. Roland L. Butler Jr., emphasized the lack of concrete information regarding additional vehicles on the bridge at the time of the collapse. While the situation is undeniably tragic, the investigation is still in progress, and authorities are working diligently to uncover the full scope of the incident.
