Two years after it was officially announced, the release of "Marvel's Wolverine" is so close, we could almost touch it. But before the big day, here's what you have to know about the game before its release.
'Marvel's Wolverine'
"Marvel's Wolverine" is an original story centered on James "Logan" Howlett, better known as Wolverine. According to PlayStation, Logan rejoins the mutant task force Team X after leaving the group three years earlier. He soon becomes involved in a fight against Bolivar Trask, who is kidnapping mutants in the name of human superiority.
The story also follows Logan's search for answers about his forgotten past. His journey takes him across Canada, Japan, and the mutant island nation of Madripoor as he fights to protect mutantkind. "Marvel's Wolverine" is developed by Insomniac Games in collaboration with Marvel Games, while Sony Interactive Entertainment serves as publisher.
Release Date and Platforms
The game is scheduled for release on September 15, 2026.
It will be made available for the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 5 Pro.

Gameplay
"Marvel's Wolverine" is a single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure game built around fast and brutal combat. According to PlayStation, players can use Wolverine's adamantium claws for attacks, parries, takedowns, and finishing moves. His Rage builds with successful attacks, parries, and kills, allowing him to unleash stronger attacks.
Players can also use Rage to activate Wolverine's Healing Factor when he takes heavy damage. The game combines combat with traversal and cinematic set pieces, including sequences where Wolverine fights enemies while moving through the environment. PlayStation describes the game as a non-open-world adventure focused on Wolverine's journey across different locations.
Editions and Pricing
"Marvel's Wolverine" will be available in Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition. The Standard Edition costs $69.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99. The Deluxe Edition is digital-only and includes the base game plus five exclusive suits, five exclusive claw sets, and three Technique Points.
Players who purchase the Standard Edition can also buy a $10 Digital Deluxe upgrade separately. Pre-ordering either edition also provides the Classic Brown Suit and Reflective Claws early unlocks, one Technique Point, and four PlayStation avatars.
