Arc System Works is bringing a new playable build of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls to the ARC World Tour Finals in Seoul, with gameplay changes based on feedback from event demos and Closed Beta Tests 1 and 2.
Producer Takeshi Yamanaka said the team is refining the game’s design ahead of launch, and that some of the changes are already visible in the most recent trailer. The updated build will be playable at the ARC World Tour Finals. The event runs from March 20 to 22.
Key changes highlighted by Yamanaka are assist mechanic updates, faster character switching, and Link Attack adjustments. He also called out an additional change: the team has tuned the frequency of area transitions.
Here’s the list of changes that were already implemented in the upcoming build:
- Assigned dedicated buttons for tag and assist.
- Reduced frames and animation time for tagging.
- Cancel attack to trigger non-rush assists.
- Reduced assist hitstop and consecutive assists.
- Aerial assist condition changes.
- Call ground assists while airborne.
- Super Skills no longer cause wall break.
- Full knockdown state post wall break.
- Link attacks no longer trigger on whiffs.
- Reduced aerial combo limit consumption.
These are not all the changes that will be implemented in the final ARC World Tour build, as the team is hard at work to make further adjustments.
The updated build will be playable during the Finals in Seoul starting from March 20. The demo build will feature all eleven announced characters.
