A Metropolitan Police marksman who was acquitted of murdering unarmed driver Chris Kaba in a police shooting deserves "admiration and apology," Suella Braverman has said.
Martyn Blake, 40, was found not guilty of murder in a unanimous verdict following a three-week trial at London’s Old Bailey.
Speaking to LBC on Tuesday (22 October), the former home secretary said: "My condolences go to the family and friends of Chris Kaba, and Sergeant Blake who was put through this ordeal deserves our admiration and apology.
"These charges for murder should never have been brought against him."
