If you’ve been itching to watch Director Josh Safdie’s sports action drama Marty Supreme, but have been holding out for streaming options, then the wait is up as the film is available to watch from the comfort of your own sofa.
One of the must-watch films of the year, Marty Supreme has received nine Oscar nominations including Best Picture and was previously up for 11 BAFTAs and three awards at the Golden Globes. Lead actor Timothée Chalamet took home the award for Best Actor in a musical or comedy at the Golden Globes.
Loosely based on American table tennis player Marty Reisman, Marty Supreme follows Marty Mauser as he pursues his dream of becoming a professional table tennis player in 1950s New York.
Stopping at nothing despite mounting setbacks, The Independent’s chief film critic Clarisse Loughrey said the film “spins out like a fairytale penned by someone midway through a stimulant-induced panic attack”. On Chalamet’s performance, Loughrey argued that the film confirms Timothée Chalamet as “truly one of our greatest talents”.
A film full of entertaining cameos, Canadian entrepreneur known as “Mr. Wonderful” Kevin O’Leary and singer Tyler, the Creator join actors Gwyneth Paltrow and Odessa A’zion in the sports action drama.
If that introduction to the epic has you reaching for your streaming stick, then read on for where to watch Marty Supreme.
