Marty Morrissey returns to TV after apologising for car loan from Renault

Marty Morrissey returned to TV on Saturday days after apologising after admitting to accepting an “informal” deal to use a car while acting as a master of ceremonies at a dozen Renault events.

The RTE sports reporter was on commentary duty at Croke Park for the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final clash between four-in-a-row chasing Limerick and Galway. He is also set to commentate on Sunday's Camogie quarter-final tie between Cork and Kilkenny at the same venue.

In a statement released on Thursday, Morrissey said he was asked in 2017 to emcee 12 functions in garages across Ireland for the motoring brand, which involved interviewing several high-profile GAA personalities.
