Martine McCutcheon stuns while out on a flower run in simple yet chic style

Martine McCutcheon was in a reflective mood as she popped out to buy herself some new flowers - while also wowing fans with her personal style.

The 46-year-old former soap star looked fresh as a daisy as she went out to get some new flowers to brighten up her home.

The former EastEnders star flashed a winning smile as she posed for a snap after picking up a giant bouquet while out and about at the end of the week.

And Martine showed off her simple yet chic style as she wore a jersey dress and simple black leggings for her day out.

Getting contemplative while on her shopping trip, Martine shared some thoughts as she shared a snap on Instagram, writing: “Flowers always make me smile!

“Roses, hydrangeas, peonies, gypsophila, the list goes on…

“Flowers and candles make spaces look so and smell so inviting and make a house feel like a home don’t they?”

One enamoured fan reacted to Martine's post, gushing: "Love her she is a national natural beauty and I can never get her role in love actually out my mind."

For many, Martine is still most famous for two roles - playing Tiffany Mitchell in EastEnders and for playing Natalie in Love Actually.

For the former, Martine held down the role of Tiffany for three years, appearing in 364 episodes from 1995 until 1998.

Last year, Martine explained that playing Natalie in the 2003 film Love Actually saved her career after she was forced to take time away from the cameras due to a health issue.

She told the Mirror last December: “I’d decided to give up the business. I’d worked from the age of 17 playing Tiffany – it was a relentless schedule of 22 scenes a day, six days a week, alongside my pop career.

“There was a lot of pressure, a lot of touring and I battled with exhaustion and felt unwell.

“Then there was the press scrutiny. I had paparazzi running after me. I was only 23 and lived on my own – it was scary.

“I just thought, ‘I love what I do but I don’t love what comes with it’, so I called my agent and gave up the industry. I remember thinking, ‘If I’m meant to stay in it I’ll get a big sign.’”

Martine then binned off the UK and flew off to Spain to refocus herself - when she suddenly got a phone call from her agent.

She explained: “He said, ‘Richard Curtis has called and he wants you to star opposite Hugh Grant in a film called Love Actually and it starts next week – can you fly back?’

“I literally dropped the phone. That film completely changed my life because I wouldn’t have been in the industry any more.”
