Martine McCutcheon says her family "need time to grieve and heal" after the devastating loss of her brother, who died aged just 31.
Earlier today, the former EastEnders actress, 46, said her "heart is forever broken" after the sudden death of her younger brother, Laurence John, known as LJ, describing him as a "gentle giant".
In a heartfelt post, the star paid tribute to her brother, who died two weeks ago, and said there was "no medical explanation" for his death, but they are investigating the cause.
In a further emotional post on her Instagram Story, Martine shared a photo of herself and LJ, who had been due to get married next month, and remembered dancing and singing to one of his favourite songs in the car.
She went on: "I love you baby boy. Always have. Always will. [sparkling love heart emoji] I will honour your memory forever and try to grab life like you did! ALL of your family were and are so proud of you.
"Go and show all the angels how it's done. [praying hands emoji]"
In another post, shared earlier this evening, The Love Actually star thanked her followers for the "amazing" supportive messages.
She said: "Thank you for your amazing messages of love and support regarding the loss of my brother L.J. They mean the world to me and my family."
She went on to say that her family "need time to grieve and heal", and requested privacy.
Earlier today, Martine described LJ as "such a character" who made the family laugh and "loved nothing more than making a plan, having a great playlist, bringing people together and generally having a giggle. He hated the thought of a party ending and so was always on to the next thing".
She told her followers that her brother had a "mild form of special needs" and was "very clever" with gadgets. The former soap actor added that LJ "adored his cars".
She continued: "With unwavering love, support and a commitment to himself, he took hold of life with both hands and smashed through any expectation we had of him. He would genuinely blow us all away at times.
Martine said that LJ had a "huge heart" and adored her son Rafferty, seven. She added: "He gave me so much. He was my anchor, my radar of what really mattered in life".
She continued: "He travelled the world, he had parents, sisters, a brother and friends that couldn't have loved him more.
"He could have you infuriated one minute and laughing the next with his dimples and soppy smile."
Martine concluded by writing: "My heart aches for all who have lost him. But my heart breaks for our mum, his dad John and his step parents. You should never outlive your children.
"I'm scared to live without you LJ but I know you will want us to truly live, laugh and love in your memory. I will try I promise".
