If there were two words you could use to describe Martin Odegaard yesterday they would be 'fired up'. The Norwegian is carrying himself with the air of a man who knows he has the chance to lead Arsenal to a first Premier League title since 2004, and with another superb display against Manchester United on Sunday he took them a step closer to it.
Despite falling behind early on, the Gunners were able to roar back to a 3-2 victory in an enthralling classic. Central to the win was Odegaard who could be seen gesturing to his teammates to maintain their intensity throughout. This has become a common sight around the Emirates this season, and the 24-year-old believes the motivation he's showing comes from the connection the Arsenal side now feel with their supporters.
"I think the fans as well did an amazing job again today," he told reporters after the match. "We went 1-0 down and they just started to applaud and cheer, helped us to get back into the game. It says a lot about the fans and also the mentality in the team to keep going and keep trying and believing until the last minute and that’s what we did."
