Martin Lewis warns anyone paying for NHS prescriptions they could save over £100 a year

Martin Lewis has issued a warning to anyone who pays for their NHS prescriptions as they could be overpaying. It comes after research from MoneySavingExpert.com shows 1,064,992 people purchased at least 12 single prescriptions in the past year.

Yet many of those people could have saved money. Patients can have a prescription prepayment certificate, otherwise known as a prescription "season ticket".

Manchester Evening News reports many have been missing out and could have saved money. A Freedom of Information request sent by the consumer website to the NHS Business Service Authority sought to find out how many people would have benefitted from the scheme but missed out.
