Martin Lewis has warned that 500,000 people on a minimum wage may be being underpaid.
The National Living Wage increased on Friday, April 1 by 6.6% to £9.50, providing a pay rise to millions of workers across the UK. There was also a real-terms pay increase for 21-22-year-olds who saw their pay increase by 9.8% to £9.18 per hour.
But the MoneySavingExpert founder believes many people in the UK are actually being paid less than they should. To help, Martin has shared several employment rules that could be worth hundreds of pounds.

Uniform/safety equipment reimbursement:
Martin urged employees to remember that if they have to buy uniforms or safety equipment, the employer should cover the cost if it would take their hourly salary under the living wage.
Commission, tips and overtime don't count:
Martin says your base salary has to be at least the legal minimum, and your employer can't round it up using commission, tips or overtime.
Make sure you're being paid for all your time at work:
If you have a job for example that requires security clearance, travel or even opening or shutting the premises, you should be paid for that time.
