A two-minute trick could halve your broadband bill, according to latest advice from Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis. According to the financial guru, seven million people are currently out of their broadband contract and so are overpaying massively when it comes to their internet connections.
In the latest Money Saving Expert email, Martin Lewis said: "Many on older contracts are paying £30 to £45 a month for slow broadband." His solution is a two-minute visit to the Money Saving Expert's broadband comparison.
He goes on to say: "Two minutes on our broadband comparison can often find deals saving £200+ a year, at faster speeds. To put that in context, you can get superfast fibre broadband for less than £19 a month."

How to use the broadband comparison site
The Money Saving Expert broadband comparison tool looks at 20 of the biggest providers on the market, including big names such as BT, Sky and Virgin. It also includes special deals Money Saving Expert have "found or blagged".
However, there are a number of small providers that the tool cannot list, which will often have cheap deals and offers running. Money Saving Expert says: "It's always worth checking direct with any local provider you know of."
To use the tool, simply enter your postcode into the box here. A list of the cheapest deals in your area will be displayed below.
Can these deals be beaten by cashback sites?
According to Money Saving Expert advice: "Members of specialist cashback sites may be able to undercut some deals, though don't assume it's the same deal: they can be structured differently, so check carefully. To get it, you need to sign up via the cashback website, rather than directly with the provider.
"Cashback websites use affiliate links to generate revenue, so if they get paid when you sign up, you'll get paid. Unfortunately, this cash is never guaranteed, as sometimes there are tracking issues. Plus, they won't pay out on top of our Blagged deals."
What if I'm on Universal Credit or similar benefits?
Other advice from the Money Saving Expert says that if you are on benefits, you may be due cheap, long-term 'social tariffs'. You can find these tariffs here and you can then measure how they stack up against your comparison results.
The advice goes on to say: "The standard comparison will generally have cheaper headline prices due to newbies' sign-up incentives. So they usually win for regular switchers.
"Yet if you want to stick with a provider for more than a year or so, then social tariffs are likely to be the cheapest route."
