Martin Lewis demanded ITV This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield “let him finish” when they interrupted him on today's show. The MoneySavingExpert.com founder was part way through passionately talking about the financial education textbooks he helped to fund.
He was speaking via video link from his home, ahead of his Money Saving show on ITV and ITVX from 8pm tonight (Jan 24). Martin had been brought in to answer questions from viewers during the Your Money Matters segment.
At one point he spoke about the financial education textbooks he had funded so that young people could learn more about money. He said: “I don't think it's right a private individual should be funding financial education textbooks but in the end I gave up on that.”

Phil responded: “Yeah, yeah.” And Holly said: “It makes perfect sense.” But Martin was keen to continue talking, and clapped back: “No. Let me finish. This is important."
He continued: “Let me finish this. I did it - we put free financial education textbooks in schools, me and a charity worked together to do that.
"Parents can download those financial textbooks so teachers and parents can teach their kids about money. They are available as a free download.
“But still we don't have the teacher training, we don't have enough teachers teaching it, we are in a huge financial crisis in this country at the moment and we should hang our heads in shame that we never took the opportunity to teach our kids about money and to equip them for the independent adult world.”
“That is a fuller answer,” Phil said. “Yes, thank you, thank you,” Holly added.
ITV This Morning continues to air each weekday from 10am til midday on ITV1 and ITVX. The Martin Lewis Money Show: Live airs this evening at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
