Hundreds of people have been scrambling to get their meter readings submitted as the new energy price cap has forced gas and electric costs to a record high.
The wave of bill payers trying to submit their readings forced energy websites such as British Gas, EDF and SSE to crash and still some people are reportedly having problems.
Martin Lewis has since issued advice for people who can't submit their meter readings, and remember do not have to do a meter reading if you are on a fixed tariff or based in Northern Ireland.

Firstly he told his followers 'do not panic', and he added: "If you were to do it tomorrow (Friday), or the day after, or the day after that, just doing it around now reduces the wriggle room for a problem with estimates. A day or two out isn’t the biggest panic in the world."
He said: "It’s really frustrating. “This shouldn’t have happened and we [Money Saving Expert] are alerting Ofgem to the problem.
"Just make sure you’ve done one in the last few days or in the next few days and you should be pretty close to being charged the right amount. If you can’t send it through online or their phone lines are too busy, some of them do allow you to email a photo of your meter to allow for a meter reading."
And the Money Saving Expert added today: "Many still worried as they've been unable to do a meter reading. Don't worry if you have the reading from yesterday (or even just get it today) you normally have up to a week to submit it."
Shell Energy have added an emergency 'log a ticket with your energy readings' to provide a way for people to avoid their crashing website.
Octopus Energy have said their new variable tariff doesn't start until Saturday at 12am, so you have until then to log your meter readings.
