Martin Lewis leaves GMB viewers in tears as he gives emotional Christmas message

Martin Lewis left Good Morning Britain viewers in tears after delivering an emotional message to people struggling at Christmas.

The financial expert regularly appears as a guest presenter on the ITV show. And on Wednesday, he confirmed he wouldn't be back on GMB until March as he would be busy filming his own programme after the festive break. But he gave a moving farewell message ahead of Christmas, which made viewers "well up".

The Money Saving Expert said: "This is my last programme before Christmas. I won't be back till March because I've got my show coming on in the New Year. Can I just wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

"To those of you who will be going through grief and loneliness this Christmas, may you have more smiles than you are expecting. May you have more joy than you are expecting. If not, I just hope you get through it and you get through it easily."

Co-presenter Kate Garraway also appeared moved by his comments and she thanked Martin for his help. She held his arm and told him: "And can I just say, thank you to you. You've really helped a lot of people this year as you always do and we wish you a Merry Christmas as well as I'm sure Lorraine does too."
