Martin Lewis has issued an urgent warning to those paying energy bills through direct debit.
Taking to Twitter, the Money Saving Expert to urge customers to take a meter reading before midnight on June 30. This is due to a new Ofgem Price Cap coming in from midnight on July 1, so energy rates will be dropping, reports the Mirror.
The new price cap from Ofgem is set at £2,074 for the average annual energy bill - several hundred pounds less than the current Price Guarantee rate of £2,500. With energy rates set to drop by around 17% on average, you will need to make sure your units are recorded correctly.
