As energy prices rise to a staggering high, same goes for fuel and oil, food costs are also expect to jump, leaving many people concerned how they will make ends meet.

Being inundated with questions, Mr Lewis offered advice for households who have a yearly income of under £30,000

“If you have an income of less than £30,000 and you are struggling, it is worth spending 10 minutes on a benefits calculator to see what you are entitled to.”

According to Official National Statistics, the median weekly pay for full-time employees in 2021 was £611, which totals to £31,772 a year.

This comes after the Money Saving Expert founder slammed the energy price rises and pleaded with Government on his show to step in.

Mr Lewis pointed out that in October we could see the average energy annual bill go up to around £3,000.

Looking straight into the camera, he directly called upon Chancellor Rishi Sunak after pointing out how high the prices are rising.

He said: "Chancellor, you've got a spring statement on the 23rd of March, you're going to have to do something because it's just too bad to think about."

He continued to reiterate that it is better to stay on the price cap as the cheapest fixed rate is currently over £4,000 a year- not including deals for current customers.
