Consumer guru Martin Lewis has offered advise for householders who have still not received their £200 Alternative Fuel Payment.
People were eligible for the payment if they're house was not connected to the mains gas grid and if they use alternative fuels as their main source of heating such as bottled gas, liquid petroleum gas, oil, wood, and solid fuel. Most homes eligible for the AFP should have received it automatically as a credit on their electricity bills from February 2023, according to the Government.
However, not everyone may have received their payment yet despite being eligible, reports the Manchester Evening News. Now Martin, founder of the MoneySavingExpert website, has provided advice for people who are still waiting for their AFP.

Speaking on The Martin Lewis Podcast, he said: "Energy firms are telling people that if you haven't got it whether it's in your bank account or a voucher or on your energy account, that you should go and apply from the Government.
"Now the place you would do that is the same place that people who are off grid apply on gov.uk and I have had it confirmed that that is the process. I would still leave it a day or two just in case your payment still hasn't come through and do check your bank account and your energy account if you're on direct debit or you're on a classic payment in receipt of bills afterwards before you make that application.
"But if not, and you want go and make the application, then make it on gov.uk."
Similarly, the Government advises that some people may have to apply for the payment through the AFP Alternative Fund if it wasn't received automatically. This could happen if you do not have a contract with an energy supplier.
According to the Government, applications for the AFP Alternative Fund will be open in early March.
