It’s safe to say Martin Lewis knows a thing or two about money saving hacks - and with energy bills on the rise, more people than ever are relying on Martin and his team to help them save those pennies as winter arrives.
One of Martin's main tips when the cold weather hits is to layer up on clothing - and we've spotted one item in particular which is helping shoppers avoid putting the heating on.
Luckily, one Money Saving Expert fan has revealed her top tip for keeping costs down and it’ll set you back just £47. The fleece-lined wearable blanket from Oodie will become your new best friend this winter - and we have a feeling you’ll be pretty much living in it - especially if you work from home.
While not specifically promoting the Oodie brand, the shopper said: "Invested in an oversized hoodie blanket to snuggle up in, not used heating since," she said.
Although it isn’t the cheapest wearable blanket out there, seeing as you’ll be using the heating much less, it’s definitely worth the investment and can save you hundreds in the long run.
Best of all? There’s a huge sale right now on all Oodie’s, with prices starting from £47 for kids’, and £59 for an adult size, down from £84.
There’s a variety of colours and patterns to choose from - so there’s something for everyone. For the foodies, we’d go for the fun avocado or pizza themed Oodie. If you’re a dog lover, we’re pretty obsessed with the Corgi and Dachshund options too!
We’ve spotted plenty of five-star reviews online, with one fan saying: "BIG, fluffy, cuddly warm.. did I say BIG? I love that you can fit a hot water bottle in the pouch. Up yours, energy company! I'll be in my oodie if you need anything:)."
A second said: "Oh Lordy… new found levels of comfort, my only complaint is with myself! Why oh why didn’t I find these last year from the first lockdown!!! Seriously if you are trying to decide on if to buy one or not then stop thinking about it and just do it. I’ve just had to buy another one as I’ve only had mine a few days and my daughter keeps stealing mine (kids eh).”
While a third wrote: “This is the BEST thing I own!!! No joke! If you don’t have one buy it now it is so cosy and warm. I have taken it camping and I now can go on a camping trip without it!!! So worth it, I now live in it.”
You can get your own snuggly oversized jumper here, but if you’re on a tighter budget we’ve spotted some similar wearable hoodies from John Lewis, Amazon and Aldi with prices starting from just £9.99.
