Martin Lewis fan saves £700 on home insurance with quick online check - here's how

A fan of consumer expert Martin Lewis was able to save £700 on his home insurance after a quick online search.

The man, known as Mick, said he had received a renewal quote of £1,109 but he was able to reduce this to £410. Mick used a comparison website to check out home insurance prices elsewhere after being inspired by MoneySavingExpert.

He wrote: "Many thanks for your recent note on home insurance - I saved £700 as a result. Our renewal premium was £1,109. We got better coverage for £410 using a comparison site, a saving of two-thirds."
