Martin Lewis fan praises £35 Aldi product that will help you cut your energy bills

One of Aldi's products has been praised by a Martin Lewis fan after helping them save on energy bills following the recent cost of living spike.

The MoneySavingExpert recently shared a guide on how to help people afford their energy bills and find cheaper solutions to keep warm. Included in the guide was the suggestion to purchase an electric blanket to keep warm rather than turning up the thermostat.

An Aldi customer followed the advice and purchased an electric blanket and went on to praise the product online while other shoppers also called it "amazing" as reported by Edinburgh Live.

The shopper headed to their nearest Aldi and picked up the Kikrton House Heated Throw for just £35. As stated in the product description on Aldi's website: "While the weather turns cold outside you can remain warm. This soft, cosy and heated coat not only looks great but is practical too.

"All you have to do is wrap it around you, set your ideal temperature and enjoy that warm and cosy feeling."

The Martin Lewis fans took to Facebook to share their satisfaction with the product. They wrote on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group and said: "After Martin Lewis recommendations for keeping warm and using electric blanket if you only need to be warm in one room..bingo £35 Aldi."

Before long, more than 1,700 Facebook users had liked the post — and almost 4,000 had left comments sharing their thoughts. "This would be fantastic for the elderly that spend their day sat in an armchair," one said.

A second revealed: "I've done this for years. I bought an electric blanket and stay warm in bed to save on the gas." A third echoed: "They are great. And I use it as an electric blanket on the very cold nights. So comfortable."

"I've got one of these and it's lush, so comfy and warm even without turning it on," agreed a fourth. A fifth concurred: "I have one of these and it's amazing". Another revealed: "Yes I need this in my life immediately."

However, not everyone agreed with the heated throw. One person commented: "Very disappointing, only heated in an area on the front. Thought it would be all over for that price, took mine back. Saw them reduced down to £24.99 in our local Aldi."

A second stated: "I have one of these and the strangest garment ever. It’s made from a big square of material with two holes in to make room for the sleeves. It doesn’t lie properly around the shoulders as it has no shape and although I am quite tall I still had to cut 15 inches off the bottom and five inches off the sleeves. Only one panel of it is heated but the material is still cosy."
