Money saving expert Martin Lewis has broken down how the Government's new £200 energy bill discount will work.
Households in Scotland are set to get a £200 upfront discount on their energy bills - however, the one-off financial support payment will need to be paid back at a rate of £40 per year over five years from 2023 to 2027.
Energy suppliers will be loaned the money to do this by the government - and should apply the discount to their respective customers from October.
