Martin Keown launches into astonishing rant over anti-Arsenal ‘bias’ by Martin Tyler and Gary Neville

Martin Keown has told Sky Sports to take Martin Tyler off-air for Arsenal’s games in a tirade against the veteran broadcaster and pundit Gary Neville.

Following the Gunners’ 3-0 defeat to Brighton, the former defender has claimed that the commentators are “biased” against his old club.

The comments came after social media reaction to Tyler’s commentary of the game was resoundingly of a different nature, instead with many viewers underwhelmed by his slighlty muted reaction to the three second-half goals.

Keown, 56, suggested that he had been “pushed” into discussing Sky’s broadcast as he insisted that Arsenal had been unfairly treated.

“How biased is the Sky Sports commentary team? It is frightening,” he told talkSPORT.

“Martin Tyler is a great professional, but he cannot hide that it hurts him that Arsenal might win a game of football. Honestly, we know Neville has got a problem.

“He is almost apologising: ‘Have I lost my mind? Should we be sending [Gabriel] Martinelli off?’ No no, not at all, you go with your instinct.

“So, there we are, it is a poke in the eye to a commentator. I should be more respectful, Martin is a great commentator, but please Sky, don’t put him on the Arsenal games anymore. It is a really hard listen.”

Roy Keane, Patrick Vieira and Neville all criticised Arsenal’s display on Sunday, in particular Jakub Kiwior for staying down at Brighton’s first goal, while Mikel Arteta apologised to fans.
