Rangers are keeping tabs on Martin Fraisl – but have not yet made a pre-contract offer to the Schalke keeper.
Reports in Austria and Germany claimed the Scottish champions have tabled terms for two years, with the option of another 12 months.
Fraisl is on a list of possible goalkeeping targets that Rangers are looking at but nothing has been firmed up beyond that for the 28-year-old.
Current No. 1 Allan McGregor is out of contract in the summer and it remains to be seen if he will continue to play next season or not.
Back-up Jon McLaughlin has recently penned a new deal while Rangers also have highly-rated Robby McCrorie as well.
The reports claim that Fraisl is also attracting interest from English Premier League side Norwich City.
The keeper, who only moved from Dutch side ADO Den Haag last year, is out of contract in the summer and has still to be offered an extension by Schalke.
Rangers have already signed John Souttar from Hearts but they are not currently in pre-contract talks with any other targets.
