Martin Dubravka insists it has been an 'honour' to play for Newcastle United after releasing an emotional message to fans. The former Magpies number one completed a deadline-day loan swoop to Manchester United after losing his starting spot to Nick Pope.
Dubravka joined Newcastle on an initial loan deal in January 2018, and the Slovakian international made an instant impact with a match-winning display against the Red Devils. The 33-year-old went on to make 130 appearances in black-and-white, and proved to be a consistently impressive performer under successive managers.
However, Dubravka's future was cast into immediate doubt by the summer arrival of England international Nick Pope. Eddie Howe confirmed he was 'sad' to see the goalkeeper depart, but admitted he did not want to stand in the player's way once he made it clear he wanted to leave.
