Martin Compston went from 'Scotland's most stylish man' to wearing tracksuits while looking after son

Line of Duty's Martin Compston was once voted Scotland's most 'stylish man'. However almost 10 years on, now he wears trackies with the actor himself calling his hilarious fashion journey a "comedown".

During the latest episode of Martin Compston and Gordon Smart's podcast, Restless Natives, released on February 15, the pair spoke about Gordon's timekeeping - namely him being late thanks to a truck stop in Lesmahagow, as well as a school packed lunch that had Compston in near tears from laughing so much.

But whilst the pals of 15 years were making fun of each other, it was the fashion that was a big talker. And perhaps not the best news for Martin.

Talking about the recent awards shows and the Superbowl, Martin said he went from Scotland’s most stylish man to someone who now wears tracksuits at any given opportunity he can.

Speaking about his wife Tianna who attended the Grammy's, where the dress code is definitely not casual, he explained: "It’s been a bit of a stressful week, because she’s [Tianna] away and she is full on grafting, they're putting on Rihanna’s Superbowl afterparty.

"It’s a bit of a comedown coming from someone who was once Scotland’s most stylish man, but my fashion choices now are basically the stretchiest tracksuit I can wear that will work on a trampoline and the ones that give me the least amount of friction going down on a slide.

"Because I spend that much time in parks with the wee man I need to start enjoying it as well."

Giggling away, Gordon couldn't contain his laughter. Although before launching the podcast, Gordon previously joked about the fashion title the Greenock-born actor was given saying: "I am shamelessly riding on the coat tails of a national treasure. That said, without me, Martin would never have been voted Scotland’s Most Stylish Man in 2014."

He also teased Martin on social media about it back in 2017 adding: "Scotland's Most Stylish Man? That gets more and more preposterous by the day ya dafty."
