Line of Duty star Martin Compston has revealed to fans that he refuses to go to the opticians to get glasses - despite having blurred vision.
The Scottish actor admitted he can't read road signs, or subtitles on the television, reports the Scottish Sun. A recent eye test revealed that Martin has an astigmatism, which is an imperfection in the curvature of the eye, that causes blurred distance vision.
However, the 38-year-old refuses to get glasses for this issue as he is reluctant to seem "middle-aged". Martin said: "The eye test didn't go well, it's pretty heartbreaking.

"I kind of knew that I needed them but I feel that when I start using them I'll rely on them so I've been putting it off.
"If I'm on the motorway I can't read road signs but I can see a truck coming towards me and you have got sat naps now so you don't even need that.
"Where it really bothers me is I can't read subtitles on TV, that really struggles me but I can't wear glasses.
"The missus has been on at me for a long, long time about it. It's that kind of thing where you start to admit to middle age."
Earlier today, Glasgow Live reported that Martin was also reluctant to do something else - audition for the BBC drama that spring boarded him to television fame.
It turns out that Scottish lad Martin almost turned down the famed role of Steve Arnott. Fellow star Craig Parkinson, who played Matthew 'Dot' Cottan on the show, revealed in an Instagram post celebrating the anniversary of the show that Martin had cold feet at first.
Marking a decade since the show began, Craig shared that he was asked to audition for the role of Steve Arnott at the time, and persuaded Martin to come try out for the role too. Craig said: "For a man of great taste, he needed a nudge. I told him he had to meet on this as I'd just read the greatest first two episodes of a new series I had ever read.
Myself and Martin had our auditions within minutes of each other and met prior to run our lines with each other. It was the very next day I received a call saying that the role of Steve was being offered to another actor. I asked who it was. They told me, 'Martin Compston'.
"I was in the bath at the time, I remember that. I also remember that I was genuinely made up for my mate. They then asked how I felt about playing a role called Matthew 'Dot' Cottan. Little did I know."
