Martin Compston has shared hilarious footage of himself getting into a bit of a tiff with the Siri app on his new laptop.
The Greenock-born actor recently purchased an Apple Macbook so that he can continue to record his podcast Restless Natives with pal Gordon Smart - but it appears he had some difficulty setting it up.
In the post, Martin shared the clip and wrote: "The war between Scotland and voice recognition continues, one day we shall prevail. Got my first ever laptop so myself and @gordonsmart can continue talking p*** to each on an international level, it didn’t go well thanks as ever to @tianna_flynn for being my technology guru. @restlessnativespodcast1 episode 15 out now."
In the video, which was filmed by Martin's wife Tianna, he can be seen leaning over the laptop and saying: "Hey Siri?" - and as the app didn't recognise his accent, the 38-year-old actor walks away in a huff before trying again a few seconds later.
He says to his wife: "It's intentionally being a d***!" When Tianna decided to say "Hey Siri?" it recognised her voice straight away, to which Martin replied: "Oh f*** off!"
As he tried again and it continued to be unsuccessful, he fumed: "Oh my God! Oh my God!"
However, he then decided to try it out in his Line of Duty character Steve Arnott's English accent and Siri picked it up straight away, he laughed: "F*** off! How can you not get that!? I can't take this p***."
In further clips, Martin seems to still not be able to gets to grips with Siri. And many of his fans were in stitches of laughter at the video.
One wrote: "I am DYING." Another added: "This is superb - my iPhone is the exact same, I guess Inverclyde accents aren’t factored in at Apple."
Another said: "Only works when you use your Steve Arnott voice."
