Martin Boyle has returned to Hibs on a three-year deal with the club holding the option of a fourth season after a whirlwind Easter Road transfer.
The fans' favourite departed the club earlier this year in a life-changing transfer but he is now back in the capital and has instantly been called upon with new boss Lee Johnson included him as part of his squad to face Hearts in the Edinburgh derby. The former Sunderland man - who replaced Shaun Maloney at the helm - has described the move as a 'huge boost' as he hailed the club board of directors for their fast action in getting the deal over the line for the 29-year-old.
On his return, the Hibees boss said: “It’s a huge boost for us and something we’ve been trying to do for a few weeks now. He will add charisma on and off the pitch. He fits perfectly into our playing philosophy in two or three positions and he’s a tried and tested player. The Board of Directors have done really well to push this one and to drive it through quickly.

“I’m excited to have him here as he will add a dynamic that we didn’t have.”
Chief Executive Ben Kensell added: “We are delighted to bring Martin Boyle back to Hibernian FC.
“After he left in January, we always had the mindset that if it was possible to get him back, we would make it happen, and we gave ourselves the best possibility to do that by including a first option clause within the outgoing deal.
“Due to the intricacies of the deal, it wasn’t easy to do, but we’re delighted with the agreement we came to with Al-Faisaly FC.”
The Australian international has joined from Saudi Arabian side Al-Faisaly FC and the terms of the transfer will remain undisclosed.
