Martha Stewart’s Rattan Tree Skirt Is the Beautiful Solution to an ‘Unsightly’ Problem Every Homeowner Faces over the Holidays – for Under $86

Martha Stewart.

When it comes to holiday decorating, we naturally focus on the ornaments and lights that make the tree a talking point. But Martha Stewart recently reminded us to reconsider a detail that’s often overlooked: the tree’s base.

Even the most stunning Christmas tree can feel incomplete if it’s paired with a container that doesn’t complement its elegance – but the search for the perfect piece starts and ends with the original influencer, Martha.

'You can call it whatever you want, but whatever it is, it is one of the most beautiful surroundings for the bottom of your tree,' Martha says of her Rattan Colorblock Tree Collar (available at QVC). As she reminds us, it doesn't matter whether it's labeled a collar or a skirt – what does matter is that you add one to your cart immediately.

'You don’t want to look at the tree stand. I don't want to look at the tree stand, but I do wanna look at this tree collar/ skirt. It's all hand-braided, and it is made out of a nice sisal,' Martha adds. We're already wondering why we went so many holidays without it.

'This is rigid, it stands on the floor, it does its job, and it looks really good,' Martha adds while demonstrating its durability and functionality (yes, it dismantles for easy storage for the rest of the year). However, in true Martha style, it is designed to look beautiful in the process. We are partial to the matcha green colorway, but you cannot fail with classic white either. 'This beautiful green is like matcha tea,' Martha says.

She recommends 'strewing your presents all around the skirt or the collar' even though it would be a shame to conceal such a piece. Plus, as Martha reassures us, if you have a real tree, you can still water 'right over the top.' It really is that effortless.

However, this skirt (or collar!) isn't the only piece shaping our Christmas decor this year. I keep browsing Martha's QVC collection for some festive buys, and have rounded up my favorites below. I expect they'll look just as good when you remove them next year, too.
